Procedural writing: Jam biscuits

Walt: write a procedure for making Jam biscuits.

Success Criteria: use a verb to begin every  step in the method.

Ingredients:

• 125g of butter or( ½ cup)
• ½ cup of sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 cups of flour
• 1 tsp of baking powder
• 1 tbsp of milk
• Jam ( any flavour)

Method:

step 1. pre-heat the oven to 180°celsius.

step 2. Melt 250g of butter in the microwave.

step 3. cream 250g of melted butter and ½ cup of sugar in a bowl till light, soft and fluffy.

step 4. add in 1 egg and mix together.

step 5. combine your mixture with 2 cups of flour and 1 tsp baking powder.

step 6. pour in 1 tbsp of  milk and combine together.

step 7. grab a handful of the mixture and shape it into little oval sized balls.

step 8. press the biscuit dough lightly in the middle to make a small hole.

step 9. put in a tsp of jam in the hole and bake for 15 minutes.

Basic facts test results

Today in maths, I did a basic facts test.I did a stage 6 and i only got one wrong and that was 10 divided by 5. I wrote down 5 when the actual answer was 2. Next time I want a higher score like 10/10 for all the questions that I did. But overall I am very happy with my score.

Coma

For reading today, I played this game called “Coma”. In this game, I had to click on the punctuation that would match the sentence like this: His favourite fruits are Apples, Pears and Bananas.Where would you put the punctuation? you would have to put three comma's in between Apples, Pears and Bananas because you are listing the fruits that you like, and when you do that you always put a comma in between.I only got one wrong but that was ok. I really enjoyed playing this game because it was easy. Next time, when I play this game I would like to have more harder sentences.

Writing word problems

Today In maths, I learnt how to write word problems for an equation. As you can see, the equation that I choose was the easiest. I choose it because I did not want to get stuck on a hard one and because I didn't know the answer to it or how to do it. While I was doing these two problems, I realized that I needed to know my nine and five times tables. fortunately, I did so that's why I found these problems easy. Next time, when I do problems like these, I want to challenge myself and do a harder one.

Happy Birthday!

   The People above are all celebrating birthdays today! Happy Birthday!

First is Donald Duck. He’s been on television ever since 1934. That was when he was created but by who? Walt Disney of course! and today he is turning 81 so it’s been 81 years since he was just a kid.He's stared In all sorts of children's cartoons like Micky Mouse club house. He has been such a funny character on tv ever since and till this day he still is.

Second is Koliata. He is now 13 years old will be going to college next year so this year is his last birthday that he is spending at primary school and hopefully he has a really good day.

And last but not least is mrs. Mary. She is not only our schools receptionist because she is much more. She treats us when we are sick or if we got injured out on the court and she prepares the teachers morning tea and lunches.

So Donald Duck, Koliata and Mrs Mary, Glen Innes school and I wish you all a Happy Birthday!!

Conjunctions

WALT: Learning to use conjunctions

Today In reading, I played a game that was called conjunctions. In this game, they would give me a sentence and they would leave one word blank. That means that the bubbles would come up with words like:  and, so, but and I would have to click on the right word that would match the sentence. I found this game really easy and next time I would like to play this game but more harder.

Math Word Problems

Today in maths, I was doing problems that involved fractions. They were word problems so I thought that they were easy. There were 5 problems to solve and I got them all correct. I had a problem doing number 4, but that was because I didn't read the problem properly. Next time I want to play a more challenging game that involves fractions.
