Basic Facts Test

Basic Facts stage 7

Screenshot 2016-02-23 at 09.53.19.png

This is my Basic Facts results. I got 10 out of 10 for three subjects and 1 8 out of 10 for one subject. I think that I did pretty good it this test because I am improving and because normally I would get a couple more than 8 out of 10 wrong, so i’m happy. To do this stage, I really needed to know my times tables, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals and a couple of other things so it was important that I listen to the teacher at all times during maths.  Next time, I am going to try and get a 10 out of 10 for all 4 subjects so that I can move on to stage 8.

Michaela and Samantha

These two girls Michaela and Samantha, are two powerful swimmers who reached out to our school all the way from Te Awamutu and donated us swimming gear in Gi at Glen Innes School. They heard that our school needed togs because a lot of us weren’t swimming, so they asked their clubs, and people that they knew if they had any togs they could donate. As you can see, this morning we met them and they are only in year 6 and 7. They both brought their swimming trophies and medals to show us and man they have a lot. It was so cool to see their medals and made me want to swim more often at school.

Working in a group

WALT: Solve problems involving patterns.

On wednesday, I worked in a group with my friends. Together, we all discussed and helped each other with our maths. It was a bit hard for me especially some of the questions, so I found it easier to work in a group instead of myself. To me, working in a group helps me alot because I can solve the problems much faster and I can help those who are struggling with the questions. I really enjoy working in groups because It’s easier for me to understand a lot of the maths questions and I get to share a lot of my ideas with the group.

Making New Class Rules

Walt: take responsibility for the class rules.

It’s really important that classes have class rules because without them students wouldn't do their work, they wouldn’t listen to the teacher and they wouldn’t use their manners. That’s why classes need rules. So, on Friday rooms seven and eight combined together as one and we all worked on our class rules. First, we had list as many class rules as we could independently. I had about four listed. Then we were told to get into groups of two with somebody who’s not in our class. I worked with Norma. In our groups of two we had to find the common rule that we both had. Then from groups of two, we went on to groups of four then eight. In those groups we had to do the same thing. Find what rules we have in common. After that, in our groups of eight the teachers went from one group to another and asked us for the rule that was most common in our group. I find that following the teachers instructions is the easiest. I think that the consequences should be picking up any rubbish outside or helping mr. Sean.

Auckland the most Liveable city in the world?

Image result for Auckland

Did you know that Auckland is rated the third city in the world that is liveable? I didn't either, I just found out.  All though I live in Auckland it's not my favourite city or place in New Zealand. Tauranga is. I just like the beautiful clean beaches and the lights in the city.
