I Should've Listened
It was a cold, frosty morning at the break of dawn, fog was filling up the air and birds had already been up chirping when Drake stepped into his brand new silver boat with his cheeks flushed. Drake was out fishing his favourite thing to do on days like this. Drake loved nature. He was a middle aged man who liked to box. He had light brown hair with curls at the end and a prickly beard that felt like sharp porcupine skin. He had light green eyes that sparkled like diamonds in the sun when he caught a big one and he was quite tall and muscled too.
“ Ahh, on goes the bait” he said to himself. So carefully, he put on his jelly like worms on to his line and “ PLONK” he put his line in the water. Then, his boat started to shake. Splashes of water splatted on to his face. “ Ewww! Sea Salt” he said. “ splash, splash” went the water. “ Aye?” Drake questioned to himself.
A couple of minutes later, Drake saw a long green thing. His palms started to get all sweaty and his muscles started to tighten up abit. So, carefully he looked out on the side of his boat to see what was down there then… “AHHHH!” Shouted Drake. As a vicious, green crocodile jumped out of the water and tried to snap his head off. Drake was super scared. He wasn't prepared for this sort of thing. He tried to yell and scream for help “ Help! Heeeelp!” But no one could hear his soft croaky voice as he was in the middle of the Louisiana River surrounded by tall, trees piled with green leaves.
Drake then turned a bit pale and started feeling like 1000 butterflies were fluttering around in his tummy. The boat started to rock. Left and right, Left and right. The crocodile was behind all of this. It wanted a feed! It wanted DRAKE! It wanted to munch on his flesh but Drake was too hard to get. “ Oh no!” Yelled Drake as the crocodile kept rocking the boat. Then Drake looked at the motor and as soon as he tried to turn it on, the crocodile's jaws bit into it and sunk it’s sharp razor teeth in it. Drake was devastated and relieved at the same time because he thought that the crocodile would take ages to get his teeth out of the motor but he still felt like he needed to get of the boat.
So he leaped like a frog out of his boat and tried to swim to a safe place, but because he couldn’t swim as a kid when he was told to and didn’t bother to take lessons from a professional when his parents asked him to, he started to drown and the crocodile saw something splash up and down and quickly pulled his teeth out of the motor and swam to Drake.
The following day, a tourist saw bones floating in the river and beside it was a fat crocodile sleeping as she quickly boated away before she became like Drake.
Theme: Don’t be like Drake. Listen to those who tell you to swim.
