Olympics Chalk Art

This afternoon, rooms 7 & 8 went outside to do our chalk art. We had been working on it for about two weeks and we finally got to do it. The weather was perfect for it, so we did it today. Our art was based on the 2016 olympics, so we had to draw any olympic sport. Before we got started, we had to draw a line on the chosen position that we would be in then, we had to draw the sport that we were doing around it. When we were finished, our teacher came around and took an aerial picture of us pretending to do our sport. I found it a bit difficult to draw but overall it was really fun, especially because it was an outdoor kind of art.

Matching Metaphors

WALT: Match metaphors with their meaning in sport and nonsport activities.

Previously, I have been learning about metaphors. To help me to have an even better understanding of them, I played a game and I had to match sport and nonsport meanings with the correct metaphor. Because I had already played this game with the writing target group, I had to teach the other students how to play it. I found this game very useful and fun because I got to use them in my narrative. My favourite metaphor is "A big hit". This game helped me alot, especially in writing.

Measuring Angles

In this game, I had to measure 10 angles accurately to get my answer right. I found this game really easy because I knew how to use a protractor and because I could identify what kind of angles they were giving me. The only thing that I didn't like about this game was that your overall score wouldn't show at the end. Next time, I'd like to revisit prime numbers and prime factors.
